How To Use & Insert Large to Huge Dildos Like A Pro

Posted in: Essential Guides

Huge dildos can be both enticing and frightening. There is something very intimate and thrilling in having something extra deep inside you and giving you that extra stretch.  But at the same time, they can be a bit intimidating, right?

Let us take you through the basics - why you should go big, how to do it, and what to choose.

Why Use a Big Dildo?

Whether you’re interested in vaginal or anal insertion, taking on a huge dildo and pushing your limits can definitely be a very pleasurable experience.

A dildo with a wide circumference will give you a very full feeling and a nice stretch. The extra length will stimulate a larger surface area and reach more of your go-spots. Those can be amazing sensations on their own, but there is even more to the pleasure big dildos can give you.

The pressure of a large object inside you will stimulate the internal parts of the clitoris (for vaginal insertion) or the prostate (for anal insertion).

If you’re a fan of gaping, a huge dildo is certainly one of the best ways to go for that visual.

There is also quite a bit of power play when dealing with big toys. Totally submitting to someone, by letting them insert a dildo like that into you can be a huge turn-on (get it?) if you want to live out a BDSM fantasy.

Believe it or not, playing with a big toy can also benefit your muscles. A lot of people fear that taking in huge dildos will leave them loose and damage their insides. The fact is if you take the necessary precautions, do it safely and take your time, your muscles will actually get stronger and more flexible. This can lead to better and more intense orgasms and more fulfilling experiences while having intercourse with a partner.

Don’t worry - you will most definitely be able to go back to small sizes when you’re in the mood for that. Be sure to train your muscles regularly and keep them toned!

There are some people out there who may feel threatened or emasculated if a partner is using (or wants to try out) a dildo that’s “large and in charge”. They might feel they’re not enough or can’t provide satisfaction to their partner.

If you feel like that you should put those worries to rest! Here are a couple of Reddit quotes that explain why:

  •  Masturbation tools don't necessarily reflect what people seek in a real partner.” - antisocialmedic
  • “Well, for one dildos are NOT about you. Some women just like huge dildos that are larger than anything that is physically possible in real life.” - thumpersoldiersgirl

Sex toys, even extreme size & shape ones like horse or dog dildos, cannot replace a real partner and exploring fantasies is healthy.

So rather than worrying, join your partner in the fun! Good communication and experimentation will improve your overall sexual experience. Just be sure to play safe!

Speaking of which...

How to Take a Big Dildo?

I know you’re excited, but wait! Taking a big dildo should be done safely and you’ll need some preparation. Lucky for you, they're pretty straightforward.

Set goals

Don’t go for that huge monster dong right away, even though it looks very exciting. You have to level up gradually to get your body used to bigger sizes and also avoid any injuries.

Think about where you are now and how far do you want to get. Every new size will take you some time to get comfortable with. Start with something that will be a challenge but don’t go overboard.

Warm-up

Whether you are solo or with a partner, make sure you have uninterrupted time and set the mood. Dim the lights, light a candle, play your favorite music, maybe put on a porn video - whatever works for you!

Foreplay is very important! Relax and let yourself get fully aroused. Don’t reach for the big dildo just yet. Start with your or your partner’s fingers, a normal-sized toy, maybe even intercourse. It’s important to get the blood flowing to your most sensitive areas, get your muscles warmed up, and ready for the challenge. You can even have an orgasm (or a few) before getting into it.

Get in position

Some positions will help you take in the size of the dildo more easily. The most important thing is to be comfortable and stable. Choose a position that won’t contort your vagina or rectum, so you make room for the dildo you’re inserting. Laying on your back with your legs slightly bent or getting on all fours are both great options. Sitting on/riding a huge dildo with a suction base might not be for you if you’re a beginner. Slow and gentle penetration will require more time and the semi-squat will probably be too tiring and dampen your experience. Not to mention it’s very hard on the knees.

Lube up

Lube, lube, and more lube. Even if you’re confident your body produces a satisfying amount on its own. Big toys can be a bit of a challenge for your orifices and being wet will help for smoother penetration. So be extra generous, particularly when you’re first starting out.

Your best option would be to get some hybrid lube, which is basically water-based lube with a dash of silicone. The silicone makes it extra slippery, but it’s too little to damage your silicone toys. If you still have some doubts, go for a water-based option.

Apply the lubricant both on the toy and on your vaginal or anal opening. Be careful to put it only on the part that you’re inserting and not where you’re holding on to the toy. If your hands get slippery it will be harder to work with the dildo.

Uberkinky has plenty of great lubes to choose from here.

Take your time

Whether you’re playing solo or with a partner, you have to give your body time to adjust to the size of your toy. Before that, you can even get to know your dildo by incorporating it into the foreplay. Explore the size, the shape, the texture. That way you’ll feel more relaxed when you start penetration.

Don’t rush it, even if you generally like it rough. If you push too hard you might cause tears on your insides and that’s not fun at all. Go slow. Take breaks if you have to. Allow your muscles to relax around the dildo. Listen to your body. The feeling of stretching and pressure are not the same as pain! Pain might be a sign you’re taking things too fast.

Play

Once your dildo is in, it's time to explore the sensations. See what feels good. Feel the pressure it applies to your sweet spots. Work your muscles around it to intensify your pleasure.

Move the dildo around to change where the pressure hits and find out what works for you. You can try to turn it while it's inside you or experiment with thrusting motions, so you get more intense stimulation by friction.

Be careful when venturing into depth play. Deep in the vagina and rectum you can feel pressure, but not pain, so tread carefully - you don't want to cause any damage, do you?

Once you get used to the new sizes and get to know your body a little bit better, you can play more freely and go harder!

Size and shape

The size of your toy is probably your main concern. We’re talking about huge dildos, after all.

You should consider what size are you comfortable with right now. Measure the toys you already have, or maybe your partner’s penis.

It’s a good idea to increase the circumference by around 1" in girth, or 0.3" in diameter each time you size up. It’s a big enough difference that you will notice it, but not so much that it will cause injuries when experimenting with it.

With the length, you can’t really go wrong. Don’t worry about getting a toy that’s too long because you can insert only as much as you’re comfortable with. The rest you can just use for holding on to.

If you’re into depth play though, keep in mind there are dildos designed specifically for depth training. Check them out!

You also want to consider the shape of your dildo. Something with a tapered tip or anything that gradually increases in size will help with easy insertion.

If fisting sounds exciting to you, you can also take a look at the wide range of fisting dildos. There are plenty of options regarding the size, shape, style, and features.

For those who are bored of the regular options and prefer something unorthodox regarding shape and style, fantasy dildos might be the ideal pick. Canine dildos are perfect for those of you who want to take on more girth rather than length. They are designed with a knot, which will help you with stretching out more. Horse dildos or dragon dildos are also a great choice for taking on a larger size. They tend to be longer, and some of them have quite a bit of texture as well. The fantasy dildos by Sinnovator are very customizable, so you can get one that is in line with your current goal.

Don’t forget every anal toy should have a flared base, so it doesn't get lost inside your rectum!

Firmness and texture

When going extra big, it’s important to think about how firm you want your toy to be.

Extra soft dildos (floppy ones who can’t stand on their own) are easier on you when it comes to the bigger sizes. Keep in mind they are also not ideal for thrusting and it might be harder for you to insert them, but you’ll feel more relaxed once they’re in versus the firmer options.

Firmer dildos on the other hand are easier to insert but could create more discomfort for your muscles.

If you’re just starting out, try to avoid extra firm dildos, like the ones made from glass or metal. Once you get more used to stretching out you can go for a more intense feeling.

The firmer the dildo, the more noticeable the texture. For beginners, it’s better to start with something smooth, as it will be easier to insert. Too much texture when you’re not ready might cause you pain or even injuries. But when you are more experienced playing around with textures can certainly be fun. Texture can feel amazing on your insides, provides more friction and can stimulate you in new and exciting ways.

You're probably a bit overwhelmed by all the options. That’s ok - here is a handy list of some of the best large dildos you can find!

Multiple Toys

Some people experiment not with one huge dildo but with multiple smaller toys they insert into one orifice. That is supposed to make size customizing easier and also help with storage solutions (let’s face it, storing 3 normal-sized dildos is easier than storing one huge toy). You should be wary of these alternatives. It might work for some, but the toys can rub together, which could not only damage them but also cause internal injuries. It’s safer to go with one high-quality dildo made of body-safe materials in the size you’re ready for and increase gradually.

In conclusion...

See? Big dildos are a lot more fun than scary. As long as you play safe they’ll bring you nothing but joy. There are so so many options to explore. It’s time to live out your fantasies and cross one more thing off your bucket list, don’t you think?
